Virginia
Þessi færsla verður á ensku til að spara mér að skrifa email til nokkra bandarískra vina.According to the NYTimes when there's 99.8% of votes reporting the results for the Senate candidates in Virginia are following:
George Allen (R) 1,162,717 (49.3%)
Jim Webb (D) 1,170,564 (49.6%)
Total number of reporting votes: 2,359,329 (incl/independent)
Difference between Webb and Allen now: 7,847
Given that 98.8% of the votes are now reporting and therefore 0.15-0.25% unreported, there are possibly 3,544-5,913 votes unreported. So given a gap of 7,847 votes Webb seem to be the winner.
So I was wrong. The Democrats did carry Virginia. Although, with a Reagan official.

In Montana, with 95.6% of votes reporting, the results are:
Burns (R) 188,900 (49%)
Tester (D) 190,486 (49%)
Total number of reporting votes: 389,286 (incl/independent)
Difference between Tester and Burns now: 1,586
Given the same methology there could be between 17,704 and 18,130 votes unreported. With a bit of calculation it's clear that Burns only needs 54-55% of the unreported votes to take the lead.

McCaskill (D) won the election in Missouri 49.4% to 47.4%. So there won't be any Talent in Missouri.

With some common sense adjustments, using an interactive website from the NYT, the House results can be adjusted to 231 Democrats and 202 Republicans. The CT district 2 is to close and 2.7% of votes unreported. WA district 8 is close and only 31% reporting but the Rep. incumbent is more likely to narrowly carry it.

In E!-styled soup news, Kinky Friedman got more than half a million votes as Texas governor (12.6%). The Rep. candidate won with 39%, against 30% for the Dem. candidate.
Arnie got 56% of the votes in California, against 39% of the Dem. challenger. A secure lead there of 1 million votes.

The only really exciting gubernatorial election is in Minnesota. The Rep. is in the lead with 0.6% when 1.3% are unreported. The Rep. incumbent will probably get a 2nd term there.

News from Montana: Burns 48.5%, Tester 48.9%, 99.4% reporting. 2,100-2,500 unreported and the difference 1,586 votes. Tester seems to be winning.
Montana AND Virginia? So there is a real possibility for the Democrats to take the Senate! I just can't believe it. There must be a court in Virginia that can change that :)
I like your blog much more when written in English.
